Waste
An average human being in America throws away about 4.5 pounds of trash a day. Wow!!!!!
4 pounds a day add up to 1600 pounds a year. Imagine how much we are throwing away in our life time?
And how much of that waste can be recylced?
The more we recycle the less things need to be made, the less space needs to be used for waste, and the less we destroy our environment from killing off our natural resources.

Newspaper
We cut down 2 million trees everyday in America, and toss 42 million newspapers everyday. You can recycle old paper to make new paper, or we can keep harvesting trees for new pulp.
A side note from The Rainforest Book: “recycling your newspaper at home as well as white paper at the office will reduce the demand for both tropical and temperate timber.”
Recycle your paper people. Stop wasting and conserve the trees, our clean energy does come from them.

The Getty Museum
For the first time in my life, I have finally set foot at the famous Getty Museum. I was told about how cool, and full of art it was. I definitely loved that place, for those art fans or museum fans, The Getty is a must! They had awesome exhibitions that definitely take some time viewing them. My friends and I went to see the “Tango With Cows” exhibition and it was book art of the Russian Avant -Garde (1910-1917). The exhibition is named after book and poem by Vasily Kamensky. It was a movement created by Russian poets and artists, where they shared their art through mixed emotions from social, spiritual, and cultural crisis’ they had gone through. Sharing their thoughts and fears through poetry from the of destructiveness of the technology and urban life.
The coolest thing was seeing these old books, and just how different artists collaborated to write poetry and create art
in them. At the same time who would know that poetry itself could be so abstract. Some of these poets were creating words and sounds, exploring their sonic language know as zaum’. .There was this quote that i really liked from one of the artist and it said, “Emotional experience cannot be put into words, therefor we strive for a transitional language”, Alexei Krucheryk. You can feel the emotions in the poetry and art. Real people with real lives expressing their feelings as a way of healing to their souls. It just made me think of how segregated the art world is with the real world, but real feelings are poured in anything you create write or make, it’s just in your own style of language. It was pretty interesting and inspiring.
So if you have time, the exhibit will be there until April 19,2009. Go and check it out. And if by any chance you are in Los Angeles during this time go there. Enjoy it and have fun

A Gift From Mexico
About two years ago, one of my friends went to Mexico to visit family. You know that when friends go away, they come back with souvenirs. She new that I was interested in art, and all the forms that people do, and just about anything people do. As you can see, the painting is on a CD. I never thought about having a painting on a CD. I had an idea of using them to add canvas material on them, but never to just use it as it is. If your an artist, and have cd’s laying around, try out and see what you can create on them.
